How we Work

Myrtle Meadows is equally committed to producing the best quality and best tasting hops market as we are to protecting our employees, our neighbours and the environment through transitioning to sustainably grown hops. We turn our fresh hops in to nitrogen-purged, vacuum-packed hop pellets right on the farm. Frozen at -7C in Mylar bags, our hops are pelletized within a day of harvesting.

Tested & True Quality

In 2020, We partnered with Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey, BC, to perform a metabolic analysis of our hops compared to commercial hops. You can find the report here.

The results of this report show that all commercial hops tested have lower alpha acid values than the samples of our Myrtle Meadows products. The same is true for the accumulation of Terpenes and other aromatic compounds in our products compared to hops produced by other commercial producers. Excitingly, these results demonstrate the superior quality of locally produced hops. This is an advantage for all the brewers that can tap into this local BC hop market. A number of local Brewers have given very positive feedback to the aromatic and bittering qualities as well as flavour compounds across all of our varieties.
